miles and miles of malaysia...

i don't even know what day it is anymore, or how long we've been here.
whatever the case, we are leaving Langkawi Island tomorrow at 5:30 pm.
we have a LOT of modes of transportation ahead of us...
one 25 minute taxi ride to the jetty.
one hour ferry ride back to the mainland.
then the killer...a 10 hour bus ride through the night and through the mountains.
(not to worry, the lady was very reassuring, saying "it's a V.I.P. bus"...like that means anything in Asia)
after the bus we hop in another quick taxi ride over to the next jetty.
one more quick ferry and then Shabam!
we will be at the Perhentian Islands...the littler of the two around noon the following day.
as lovely as it is here, i am more than ready for a new place to explore.
and i'm ready for a place with more then 3 places to eat.
today we had a gross dinner on the beach...
bruschetta to start which was a glob of tomato paste on bread with a hunk of cheese melted on top. gourmet? not so much.
after the lovely appetizer i had fried rice which had large piece of garlic (which so far on this island, make my mouth BURN and tingle...can't figure it out.) i couldn't eat it...it was spicy and it wasn't supposed to be. so i ordered nachos to boot. ha. i love being able to afford it all. for once.
oh ya. and my ice tea tasted like marshmallows...it's a normal thing here. can't figure that out either.
Perhentian Kecil is an island with no atms or banks, no public phones and internet is sparse and 5 times more expensive than here! so this will be the last you hear from me for a couple of days i'd imagine.
i best be on my way. i have to pack up our hut, de-ant everything and get some sleep.
